\nOn May 28-29, on the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord God and our Savior Jesus Christ, solemn divine services were held at the Philippine parishes of St. Seraphim of Sarov in the village of Makalangot and the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Arakan (North Kotabato Deanery), located in the mountainous area.
\nOn the eve of the feast, the secretary of the diocese, Hieromonk Korniliy (Molev), the dean, Priest Moses Kahilig, the rector of the church, Priest Nikolai Salgado, and Deacon Dimitri Kahilig served an all-night vigil at the St. Seraphim Church.
\nOn the feast of the Ascension of the Lord, Hieromonk Korniliy (Molev), Priest Moses Cahilig, Priest Nicholas Salgado, Priest Ambrose Sumagaysay, Priest Anthony Aranco, Priest Raphael Frajillo and Deacon Dimitri Cahilig celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Theotokos Church.
\nThe service was conducted in Cebuano, English and Slavonic.
\nAfter the Liturgy, Hieromonk Korniliy presented the parish with an icon of the patronal feast, painted by order of donors from Russia especially for this church.
\nAfter the service, the believers shared a joint meal in the courtyard of the church.
