\nOn March 29, the 5th Sunday of Great Lent, the first Divine Liturgy of St. Mary of Egypt was celebrated at the Church of the Apostle Thomas, under construction in the village of Kinabalan, Mindanao, Philippines.
\nThe service was celebrated by the parish rector, Priest Stefan Bingkal.
\nThe Liturgy was celebrated in Cebuano.
\nFollowing the service, Father Stefan delivered a sermon and congratulated the faithful on the beginning of liturgical life in the new church.
\nFollowing the Liturgy, the parishioners shared a communal meal, as is customary on Sundays.
\nConstruction of the stone church, designed to withstand high seismicity and humidity, began in 2021. Services have been held in a temporary church since then.
