The deacon&#8217;s rank was led by Protodeacon Daniil Matveyev, a cleric of the Resurrection Cathedral in Khanty-Mansiysk.<\/p>\n<p>At the Small Entrance, by decree of His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus&#8217;, Hieromonk Korniliy (Molev), Secretary of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese, was awarded the right to wear the palitsa for his zealous service to the Holy Church.<\/p>\n<p>During the Liturgy, Metropolitan Pavel ordained Reader Elijah Aleria to the rank of deacon.<\/p>\n<p>At the conclusion of the service, the bishop addressed those gathered:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dear fathers, brothers, and sisters! It is with great joy that I have come here to share with you the joy of liturgical and fraternal fellowship!<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday we visited Kinabalan, where construction of a large church is nearing completion. Of course, there is not enough time to visit all the churches under construction and all the parishes. But I am glad today that almost all the clergy are celebrating the Divine Liturgy here with me. &#8220;There is no greater glory than to glorify our heavenly Creator together,&#8221; says the Holy Scripture. The Lord says, &#8220;Where two or three are gathered in My name, there am I in the midst of them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I am confident that the Lord is present with us today, helping us accomplish the work of God&#8217;s salvation, and the salvation not only of ourselves but also of our flock. Our task\u2014both the bishop and the clergy\u2014is to bring people to God.<\/p>\n<p>The Lord desires salvation for all, and, of course, both the archpastor and the pastors are the intermediaries between God and man. And may God grant that we may be like this, that we may be the guide who leads people to God, to salvation.<\/p>\n<p>We see that the Lord helps us, the Lord is with us. He gives us the opportunity to build churches and ordain clergy, training more and more clergy so that the Christian faith, the Orthodox faith, the true faith, will spread throughout the world.<\/p>\n<p>And, of course, we are directly involved in this work of saving people here, on our Philippine soil. Allow me to express my gratitude to all our pastors and to the diocesan secretary for the work you are doing. And, of course, I would like it to grow even more, so that each of us could stand before God and say, &#8220;Lord, here I am, and here I am, my flock.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Today, I especially wanted to congratulate Mother Olga on the feast day of her heavenly patron, the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga. Allow me to give you this icon on this special day. May it protect you in health, in long life, and for many blessed years. I would also like to distribute prayer books in their native languages to all parishioners as a prayerful reminder. Allow me to congratulate Deacon Elijah on his ordination. Today you were ordained a hierodeacon and will serve with all your strength. As a clairvoyant elder told me, love the Church, and the Lord will never abandon you! And the Church is people. The Lord told His disciples, &#8220;If there is no love among you, I will not recognize you.&#8221; And today, in my parting words to you and all the clergy, I ask that you fulfill your obedience with dignity, loving God through your neighbor. I hope and am confident that you will fulfill this obedience with honor and love.
