<\/a>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure><\/div>\n\nOn August 28, the Feast of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Dormition Parish in the village of Banate (Davao Deanery), Philippines, celebrated its patronal feast day.<\/p>\n
The service was led by Hieromonk Korniliy (Molev), diocesan secretary. He was assisted by Priest Joachim Gonzales, rector of the parish; Priest Stefan Bingcal, rector of the Church of the Apostle Thomas in Kinabalan; and Priest John Mahinay, a cleric of the deanery. The celebration brought together believers from across the island.<\/p>\n
The liturgy was celebrated in Cebuano.<\/p>\n
Following the service, a procession with the cross and the singing of prayers to the Mother of God took place.<\/p>\n
Hieromonk Korniliy addressed the faithful with a sermon in which he spoke about the feast and the earthly life of the Most Holy Theotokos.<\/p>\n
Then, according to tradition, a communal meal was held.<\/p>\n
