Filipino Students from Russian Theological Schools Participate in “Synodal Translation: History and Modernity” Conference<\/p>\n
On October 5\u20136, the Tomsk Seminary hosted the all-Russian research-to-practice conference “Synodal Translation: History and Modernity: Marking the 150th Anniversary of the Synodal Translation\u2019s Publication,” held with international participation and the blessing of Metropolitan Rostislav of Tomsk and Asino.<\/p>\n
The event brought together representatives from eight theological schools who had come to Russia from various countries to pursue their studies.<\/p>\n
Participants included seminarians and female students from the conducting department hailing from the Philippines.<\/p>\n
On the first day of the conference, during the session titled “Bible Translations into National Languages,” Filipino student Gavriil Buniel presented a paper on the translation of the Holy Scriptures into the Cebuano language.<\/p>\n
On October 6, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated using the native languages \u200b\u200bof the conference participants.<\/p>\n
