On January 11, the 31st Sunday after Pentecost, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Resurrection Cathedral in Khanty-Mansiysk.
The service was led by Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan and Tatarstan, Metropolitan Sergius of Singapore and Southeast Asia, Metropolitan Pavel of Khanty-Mansiysk and Surgut, Administrator of the Diocese of the Philippines and Vietnam, Metropolitan Evgeny of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye, Archbishop Nikolai of Salekhard and Novy Urengoy, Bishop Mstislav of Tikhvin and Lodeynoye Pole, and Bishop Mikhail of Yugra and Nyagan.
The archpastors were co-served by the acting Hegumen Joseph (Kryukov), head of the St. Petersburg metochion of the Transfiguration of the Savior Valaam Monastery; Hieromonk Kirill (Korytko), secretary of the Tatarstan Metropolitanate; Archpriest Alexander Menzelintsev, rector of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Sedmiezernaya” in Mytishchi; Hieromonk Korniliy (Molev), secretary of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese; and clergy of the Khanty-Mansiysk Metropolitanate. The deacon’s rank was led by Protodeacon Georgy Stefanov, a cleric of the Tikhvin Diocese.
During the Liturgy, Bishop Pavel performed the priestly ordination.
On this day, warm congratulations and best wishes were extended to Bishop Pavel, who celebrated his 70th birthday on January 9. Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan and Tatarstan read a congratulatory message to Metropolitan Pavel of Khanty-Mansiysk and Surgut on his 70th birthday on behalf of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’.
Archpriest Nikolai Matviychuk, Dean of the Nefteyugansk Deanery, read a message of congratulations to Metropolitan Pavel from the clergy and flock of the Khanty-Mansiysk Diocese.
