On November 21, the feast of the Synaxis of the Archangel Michael and the Other Bodiless Powers of Heaven, a conciliar service of the hierarchs of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia was celebrated at the Church of the Nativity of Christ in Tagaytay, Philippines.
The Divine Liturgy was led by Metropolitan Sergius of Singapore and Southeast Asia, Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia. His Eminence was assisted by Metropolitan Pavel of Manila and Hanoi, Administrator of the Diocese of the Philippines and Vietnam; Archbishop Feofan of Korea, Administrator of the Diocese of Korea; Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta, Vicar of the Diocese of Singapore; Hieromonk Juvenaly (Marushchak), Secretary of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia; Hieromonk Korniliy (Molev), Secretary of the Diocese of the Philippines and Vietnam; Priest David Grubbs, Rector of the Church; and clergy of the Manila Deanery.
During the Liturgy, Bishop Pavel ordained Deacon Dimitri Cahilig, a cleric of the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in Arakan, to the priesthood. Following the service, Metropolitan Pavel, addressed the Patriarchal Exarch and those gathered.
In his response, Metropolitan Sergiy expressed sincere gratitude to all participants in the service for their contribution to the common work of providing spiritual guidance to the faithful and strengthening Orthodox traditions in the region.
The clergy and laity were awarded diocesan awards.
