Meeting in the seminary of Tomsk


A meeting dedicated to the mission in the Philippines and Vietnam was held at the Tomsk Seminary.

On September 11, with the blessing of Metropolitan Rostislav of Tomsk, a meeting dedicated to the Orthodox mission in the Philippines and Vietnam was held in the assembly hall of the Tomsk Theological Seminary. Hieromonk Korniliy (Molev), Secretary of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese, led the meeting.

The priest spoke to those gathered about his ministry in Southeast Asia, the spread of Orthodoxy in the Philippines, the climate of the region, and the mentality of the local people.

Father Korniliy showed the meeting participants photos and videos of churches under construction and already operating in the Philippines.

This academic year, three students from the Philippines and one from Vietnam have entered the seminary.

On the morning of this day, the feast of the Beheading of the Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John, Hieromonk Korniliy was among those serving at the Divine Liturgy with Metropolitan Rostislav of Tomsk and Asinov in the Peter and Paul Cathedral in Tomsk.
