Heavenly patron of the Philippines

On July 2, the feast day of St. John of Shanghai, the parish in the village of Santa Maria on the island of Mindanao celebrated its patronal feast. Hieromonk Korniliy (Molev), secretary of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese, celebrated the Divine Liturgy. The previous evening, the parish celebrated an all-night vigil.

St. John is one of the greatest saints of the 20th century, a great ascetic and miracle worker. From 1949 to 1951, the saint resided in the Philippines, spiritually leading the community of Russian émigrés on the island of Tubabao.

Liturgy in Cebu

On the third Sunday after Pentecost, Hieromonk Korniliy (Molev), Secretary of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese, celebrated Divine Liturgy in Cebu City. Following the service, a pastoral conversation with the parishioners followed.
