The consecration and raising of the cross took place on the Church of the Apostle Thomas under construction in Kinabalan, Philippines.
On April 8, the dome and cross were installed on the church under construction in honor of the Apostle Thomas in the village of Kinabalan, Mindanao, Philippines.
Earlier, on April 3, diocesan secretary Hieromonk Korniliy (Molev) performed the rite of consecration of the dome and cross.
Due to the remoteness of the area, the dome was raised by hand. The height of the church, including the cross, is over 20 meters.
Services have already begun in the church. On the 5th Sunday of Great Lent, St. Mary of Egypt, the rector of the church, Priest Stefan Bingcal, celebrated the first Divine Liturgy in the church under construction.
And now the community will celebrate the feast of feasts—Christ’s Pascha—under the shadow of the cross shining atop the church.
