Congratulations from Metropolitan Pavel of Khanty-Mansiysk and Surgut, Administrator of the Philippines-Vietnamese Diocese, on the birthday of
Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and Southeast Asia, Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia
Your Eminence, venerable and dear Bishop Sergiy!
Please accept heartfelt congratulations from me and from the clergy and flock of the Philippines-Vietnamese Diocese entrusted to my care on the occasion of your birthday.
In your youth, you brought monastic vows to God and donned the garment of joy and spiritual happiness, setting aside and trampling on all sorrows and confusion. For many years, you have worked diligently for the benefit of the church in various important church obediences.
Today, you are developing a full-fledged church life, both at the diocesan level in the Singapore Diocese and throughout the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia, doing everything possible to spread the true faith among the local population, “warning every man…” (Col. 1:28). By your personal life example, you introduce those near and far to the enduring Gospel values. You pay special attention to liturgical activities, introducing the children of God to the saving Eucharist.
On this festive day, I prayerfully wish you, dear Vladyka, good health and God’s help in further bearing the episcopal cross for the benefit of the prosperity of the Mother Church.
May “the King of kings and Lord of lords” (1 Tim. 6:15) grant a blessing on all your life’s paths in further bearing the archpastoral cross!
With brotherly love in the Lord,
Pavel, Metropolitan of Manila and Hanoi
