On May 19, 2026, at the Patriarchal Synodal Residence in the Danilov Monastery in Moscow, His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’, received the head of the Patriarchal Exarchate for Southeast Asia, Metropolitan Sergius of Singapore and Southeast Asia.
During the conversation, the presence of the Russian Orthodox Church in Southeast Asia was discussed. In particular, Metropolitan Sergius briefed His Holiness on the state of affairs in the four dioceses of the Exarchate and spoke about the construction of a cathedral and a Russian cultural center in Singapore.
