Feast of St Peter and Paul

On July 12, the feast day of the glorious and all-praiseworthy Apostles Peter and Paul, the Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Salasang (North Cotabato Deanery) in the Philippines celebrated its patronal feast day.

The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Hieromonk Cornelius (Molev), Secretary of the Diocese of the Philippines and Vietnam. He was assisted by Priest Moses Cahilig, the district dean, Priest Anthony Aranco, the parish rector, and Priest Raphael Frajillo. An all-night vigil was served the day before.

Faithful people from parishes in the North Cotabato Deanery and Davao City attended the feast. Some believers had to get up before dawn—at four o’clock in the morning—to be in time for the service.

After the Liturgy, a procession with the cross took place.

The celebration then continued with a shared meal featuring lechon, a spit-roasted pig, a traditional Filipino dish.
