On August 16, the 11th Sunday after Pentecost, Hieromonk John (Gondayao), rector of the parish, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Parish of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
Following the service, Father John performed the Rite of Catechism over a local resident preparing to receive the Sacrament of Baptism.
The catechumen was given the name Hierotheos in honor of the Holy Martyr Hierotheos, Bishop of Athens.
