The community in honor of Equal-to-the-Apostles Nina in Kinabalan (Philippines) celebrated its patronal feast day
On January 27, the day of remembrance of Equal-to-the-Apostles Nina, the enlightener of Georgia, the community in honor of Saint Nina in Santo Nino, Kinabalan (Philippines) celebrated its patronal feast day.
The secretary of the diocese, Hieromonk Cornelius (Molev) and priest Joachim Gonzales celebrated the Divine Liturgy.
The community has existed for about ten years and is located in a remote mountainous area.
This is a former Aglipayan parish, whose believers had a long way to get to church every Sunday, so they built a chapel on their land.
Having learned about Orthodoxy, the community expressed a desire to join the Russian Orthodox Church. There are not many priests in the young diocese yet, so the community does not yet have a rector.
The patronal feast was attended by parishioners, as well as many local residents interested in Orthodoxy, who came to share the joy of this significant day.
After the service, a festive meal in the open air was organized for all those present.
