On April 22, 2025, on Bright Tuesday, a significant event took place in the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Surgut: the ordination of Deacon Stefan Bingkal, a student of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy, to the priesthood.
The ordination was performed by Metropolitan Pavel of Khanty-Mansiysk and Surgut, Administrator of the Philippines-Vietnam Diocese.
Father Stefan, who arrived in Russia from the Republic of the Philippines to study, was ordained to the priesthood on Bright Week, which became a special sign of God’s Providence. His service is an example of how Orthodoxy unites peoples, and how spiritual education in Russia is open to all who strive to serve the Church.
