Baptism in the parish of the Intercession of the Mother of God in Polomolok
In preparation for Christmas
In preparation for the Nativity of Christ, the Department of Charity and Social Service of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese held a charity event for senior citizens at the Parish of Christ the Savior. Christmas gifts were presented to the pensioners of Tagaytay, and Priest David Grubbs and the staff of the department told about the Orthodox view of the Christmas holiday, which in the Catholic Philippines wrongfully overshadows the main Christian holiday – the Resurrection of the Lord.

Church choir in Na Trang
Priest Eugene Tsukalo, dean of the Vietnamese Deanery of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese: The choir is one of the main participants in the divine service, the singers have a responsibility: that everyone in the temple should pray from their prayer singing. I never cease to be surprised at the help from God when people appear in the temple with the words: “Father, I am a professional musician, can I help you sing at the service? I am ready and have a great desire!” That’s how, after 3 years, we have our own choir! And I want to thank everyone who is involved in this, but may the Lord reward them for their efforts! In Nha Trang, there is now an opportunity not only to pray, but also to hear beautiful singing! And we will definitely grow up!

Christmas Readings
A student of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy from the Philippines took part in the regional stage of the International Christmas Readings. On November 23, 2023, a conference was held in the framework of the regional stage of the XXXII International Christmas Readings on Rizhsky Avenue in St. Petersburg. The topic of the conference was “Ancient Monastic traditions in modern conditions”. The event was attended by monks in priestly rank from the St. Petersburg Theological Academy, as well as abbots, abbesses, monks and nuns of monasteries of the St. Petersburg diocese.Hieromonk John (Gondayao), a cleric of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia and a student of the Academy, made a report: “Peculiarities of monastic life in the Philippines.”
In his report, Father John noted: “The role of the very first Christian monks in the Philippines in the formation of the country is very great. The Roman Catholic monks who arrived in the Philippines played a big role not only in the Christianization of the locals, but also in the organization of institutions necessary for the development of the nation, such as schools, hospitals and charitable organizations. And the history of Orthodoxy in the Philippines is closely connected with monasticism – the first Filipino priest was a monk. Despite the absence of monasteries in the country, there are monks who live their monastic life for the glory of God in serving people in the parishes of the diocese. They strive not only for their own salvation, but also for the salvation of those believers who surround them. Monastics in the Philippines help the children of the Church to arrange a spiritual life, and help those in need in arranging daily life”.
Крещение в Санта Мария

Consecration of the foundation stone
On November 22, on the feast of the Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos “Quick to Hear”, on the island of Panglao, the consecration of the foundation stone at the construction site of the temple in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Quick to Hear” took place. With the blessing of Metropolitan Pavel of Manila and Hanoi, the consecration was performed by the Secretary of the Philippine-Vietnamese diocese, Hieromonk Korniliy (Molev), together with the dean of the Manila District, Hieromonk Alexei (Lapshin). The ceremony was preceded by a prayer service to the Most Holy Theotokos. Panglao is the most popular Filipino island among Russian tourists. Also, quite a few (by Filipino standards) compatriots live here on a permanent basis.

Congratulations to the Most Holy Patriarch
YOUR HOLINESS!
DEAR PRIMATE AND FATHER!
On behalf of the clergy and flock of the Khanty-Mansi Metropolia, and the Philippine–Vietnamese Diocese entrusted to my care, please accept sincere congratulations and heartfelt good wishes on the occasion of your Birthday.
You were born in the pious family of the ever-memorable Archpriest Michael and the handmaid of God Raisa in Leningrad city, and you have loved the splendor of the temple of God and the beauty of Orthodox worship since childhood. Seeing your fervent faith and sincere desire to serve the Church, the Lord brought you to the Spiritual school of the Northern Capital of Russia where, under the wise guidance of the great hierarch of the Church, the ever-memorable Metropolitan Nicodemus, you took monastic vows and holy orders. And for more than fifty years you have been standing before the Holy See, offering a Bloodless Sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Giver of all good things, to God.
You began serving God and people at a time when the Russian Orthodox Church was carrying out its saving mission in difficult historical conditions. But the Lord gave you wisdom, courage and strength to worthily follow the difficult path of serving the Church.
Your Holiness! Now, with a sense of great responsibility, you are fulfilling the hard-working ministry of the Primate, to which the Lord has appointed you. By performing the Primatial ministry with great love and zeal, sparing no physical effort, you convincingly testify to all of us about the eternal Gospel truths, about the power and triumph of Orthodoxy, about the need to strengthen Orthodox unity. Your voice constantly calls people to live according to the commandments of Christ the Savior, to live and active faith, unshakable hope and sincere love.
Your Holiness! On this memorable day for you, we prayerfully wish you mental and physical strength, for the Patriarchal feat is possible only with the help and grace of God, for the benefit of the Holy Church and the people of God.
Through the intercession of the Queen of Heaven, may the All-merciful Lord keep you in health and prosperity for many and good years!
With filial love for Christ,
Pavel
