On May 13, the sacrament of baptism took place at the Blessed Matrona of Moscow Missionary Center in Davao City, Philippines.
Hieromonk Korniliy (Molev), Secretary of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese and rector of the parish, baptized the Filipino and gave him the name Sergius in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh. The sacrament was performed in the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
The catechumen regularly attended services and prepared for Orthodoxy for about six months.

Every week, volunteers from the diocesan Department of Charity and Social Services organize charity lunches for children from poor families living in the Tagaytay area. The meals include porridge fortified with vitamins and minerals.
Last week, two girls were baptized at the Intercession Parish in Ho Chi Minh City and the Kazan Parish in Vung Tau, Vietnam. The newly baptized children were named Stefania and Marina. The baptisms were performed by Priest Stanislav Rasputin, rector of the parishes.
On May 2, Hieromonk John (Gondayao) celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Pangasinan in memory of Blessed Matrona of Moscow. Following the service, a meal and a catechism lesson were held.
